The standards that protect the quality of our conversations, the confidentiality of our members, and the integrity of the room.
Mastermind for Biz works because every member knows what's expected of them and what they can expect from each other. These policies keep the room high-quality, the conversation honest, and your information safe.
The value of Mastermind for Biz to its members is in attendance and the sharing of information. The Club expects and requires members to attend meetings on a reasonably regular basis in order to continue in good standing.
The Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, unless members are otherwise advised.
We recognize that members may occasionally be out of town on extended stays or unduly tied up with high levels of business activity. Advising the Chair of such situations will be accepted as reasonable notice of non-attendance. Where such notice has not been given, the Club expects all members will attend.
Per-occasion notice of non-attendance must be provided at least by 10:30 AM on the day of the scheduled meeting.
Members are requested to arrive on time and stay until 7:00 PM, or until the Chair has provided all attending members the opportunity to speak.
Members are encouraged to speak openly at meetings with the knowledge that all matters discussed will be kept in the strictest confidence.
By attending, members agree that information shared at the Club will not be divulged to anyone outside the membership without the express consent of the member(s) involved.
Mastermind for Biz seeks to attract quality candidates to its membership, with a broad cross-section of businesses and professions represented.
To respect confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest, not more than one member of any particular profession or business should be represented, unless the existing member of that profession is in agreement. To reflect the changing face of business, the Club places a priority on attracting candidates from industries prominent in our local and regional economy.
Club membership is set not to exceed twelve (12) active members, although new member nominations to fill vacancies can be made to the Chair at any time during the year. Admission of new members is subject to the following process:
On occasions when new members are considered, the Chair circulates the names of duly nominated candidates, the names of proposing members, and a short biography (4–6 sentences) of each. For confidentiality, circulations are sent by post or email to members.
Any member objecting to a candidate has 30 days to contact the Chair in confidence and exercise their power of veto. Once the 30-day period has elapsed, successful candidates are invited to lunch with the Chair and thereafter accepted for membership.
Members treat each other with respect, and what's shared in the room stays in the room. That simple trust is what makes this group work — everything else is built on top of it.
Membership is selective by design. If you value confidentiality, consistent attendance, and the chance to grow alongside other committed professionals, we'd like to meet you.
